Terms & Conditions
Last updated: August 19, 2026
1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the website heala.house and any events, gatherings, products, or services offered by Heala. By accessing or using the site, registering for an event, or making a purchase, you agree to these Terms.
2. Seller Information
You are contracting with Heala House, operated by Elana Kopelman. You can reach us any time at hello@heala.house.
3. What We Provide
Heala hosts intimate Jewish gatherings in New York City across themes of ritual, taste, embodiment, craft, and study. Each event listing describes the activity, date, location, host, capacity, price, and any terms specific to that event.
4. Payments and Orders
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle handles payment processing, billing, taxes, and the processing of applicable refunds and other transaction-related matters under Paddle's Buyer Terms.
Eligibility for cancellations, credits, or refunds is governed by Heala's Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Questions about Heala events themselves — including schedules, venues, hosts, accessibility, programming, or what to expect — should be directed to hello@heala.house.
5. Tickets and Registration
Event registrations and tickets are personal to the person named on the registration and are non-transferable. They may not be sold, resold, assigned, or transferred to another person unless Heala expressly authorizes the transfer in writing.
We may refuse admission where an attendee does not match the applicable registration, or where these Terms or event-specific terms have been violated.
6. Events and Event Changes
Event details — including venue, schedule, facilitator, programming, format, and capacity — may occasionally change. We'll let you know about meaningful changes as soon as we reasonably can.
Any cancellation, rescheduling, credit, or refund rights are governed by Heala's Refund Policy and applicable Paddle terms.
7. Age Restrictions
There is no universal age requirement for Heala events. Certain events may have their own age requirements or restrictions, which will be disclosed in the event listing, registration materials, or other event-specific terms.
8. Event Participation and Event-Specific Waivers
Some Heala events may involve physical movement, yoga, breathwork, meditation, food, crafts, outdoor activities, transportation, or other participatory experiences. As with any activity of this kind, participation carries inherent risks.
You are responsible for determining whether you can safely participate in a given activity, and for following reasonable safety instructions provided by Heala, the venue, or the facilitator.
Depending on the nature of an event, we may ask attendees to review and agree to a separate event-specific waiver, release, acknowledgment of risk, or other participation terms. Where a separate document is required, agreeing to it is a condition of participating in that event.
Any assumption-of-risk or liability language in these Terms applies only to the fullest extent permitted by law and does not attempt to waive rights or liabilities that cannot legally be waived.
9. No Medical or Therapeutic Services
Heala events, programming, and content are offered for cultural, spiritual, educational, recreational, and community purposes. They are not medical, psychological, psychiatric, therapeutic, nutritional, or other healthcare services, and they are not a substitute for individualized professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
If you have a health condition or concern, please consult a qualified professional about whether a particular activity is right for you.
10. Food, Beverages, and Allergies
Some events include food or beverages. We cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment or the absence of cross-contact. Please tell us about relevant allergies or dietary restrictions when asked, and use your own judgment about whether particular food or beverages are appropriate for you.
11. Participant Conduct
We want every gathering to feel safe and welcoming. We may refuse admission to or remove an attendee for harassment, threatening or unsafe behavior, serious disruption, inappropriate conduct, intentional damage to property, or conduct that materially interferes with the safety or experience of others.
Removal for misconduct does not entitle you to a refund, subject to applicable law and Heala's Refund Policy.
12. Photography and Recording
Photography or video may take place at Heala events for promotional, social media, and archival purposes.
If you notify Heala before or during an event that you do not want to appear in identifiable promotional content, we will make reasonable efforts not to use identifiable photos or videos of you for promotional purposes.
If you ask us to remove content after it has already been published, we will make reasonable efforts to remove it from channels under Heala's control where reasonably practicable. We can't promise removal from third-party reposts, previously distributed materials, or places outside Heala's control.
13. Third-Party Facilitators, Venues, and Providers
We work with independent facilitators, instructors, artists, venues, vendors, transportation providers, and other third parties. Their services, activities, or premises may be subject to their own reasonable rules, safety requirements, waivers, or terms, which you may be asked to follow or agree to.
Where a third party is responsible for its own services or premises, that responsibility rests with them; nothing here limits any responsibility Heala has under applicable law.
14. Circumstances Outside Our Control
We are not responsible for delays, changes, or cancellations caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, emergencies, government restrictions, venue closures, transportation disruptions, public-health events, natural disasters, or similar events.
This provision does not eliminate any cancellation, credit, rescheduling, or refund rights expressly provided under Heala's Refund Policy or applicable Paddle terms. If an event is affected by circumstances outside Heala's reasonable control, Heala's Refund Policy continues to govern what you receive.
15. Use of the Site
You may use our site and services only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Use the site for unlawful, fraudulent, or spam-related activity
- Infringe our or any third party's intellectual property rights
- Interfere with the security of the site or other users' accounts
- Scrape, probe, or reverse-engineer any part of our service
- Resell, redistribute, or circumvent event capacity limits
16. Account and Accuracy
If you create an account, you're responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity under your account. Please provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
17. Service Availability
We do our best to keep things running smoothly, but we don't guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
18. Intellectual Property
Content on heala.house — including text, images, branding, event descriptions, and underlying software — is owned by Heala or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Some content may be owned by or licensed from third-party facilitators, photographers, artists, collaborators, venues, or other licensors.
You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the site for personal, non-commercial purposes. Attending an event or using the site does not give you the right to commercially reproduce, distribute, or otherwise exploit Heala content.
19. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the site or to events for material breach of these Terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious violations of our policies.
20. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Heala's aggregate liability arising out of or relating to an event or service is limited to the amount you paid for that event or service, and we are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot be excluded or limited by law. Your non-waivable consumer rights are preserved.
21. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Heala for third-party claims arising from your unlawful conduct, intentional misconduct, material violation of these Terms, or infringement of another person's rights. This is limited to those situations and does not apply to matters caused by Heala.
22. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and otherwise handle personal information.
23. Related Documents
Depending on the transaction or event, you may be subject to these Terms & Conditions, Heala's Refund Policy, applicable Paddle Buyer Terms, event-specific registration terms, and any event-specific waiver, release, acknowledgment, or participation terms required for that event.
Heala's Privacy Policy describes how Heala collects, uses, stores, and otherwise handles personal information.
Where an event-specific waiver addresses the risks, safety requirements, or participation requirements of a particular event, those event-specific provisions govern those matters instead of any conflicting general language here.
24. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes apply prospectively — they don't change the terms governing a purchase or registration you already completed, unless the law permits it and we've told you clearly.
25. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights that may apply where you live.
26. Severability and Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
These Terms, together with Heala's Refund Policy, applicable Paddle terms, applicable event-specific terms, and any required event-specific waiver, collectively form the agreement between you and Heala regarding purchases and participation.
Heala's Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and handled.
