Root to Rise

This all-levels yoga flow invites you to experience Jewish tradition through movement. Set to Hebrew music, the practice offers a chance to ground ancient wisdom in the body. We'll gather at a Flatiron studio celebrated for its immersive soundscape to welcome Cheshvan, the first full month after the intensity of the High Holidays. With no major festivals of its own, Cheshvan invites us to integrate what we've experienced rather than chase what's next. Through breath, movement, and mindful attention, this practice explores what it means to carry moments of holiness into ordinary life. The class will be led by Naor Oknin, an Israeli yoga teacher and movement facilitator whose teaching draws on embodied awareness. His classes invite students to cultivate a deeper connection between body and mind while creating space for personal reflection and resilience. A portion of proceeds will support Brothers for Life, an Israeli nonprofit that provides lifelong support to wounded IDF veterans and their families through rehabilitation, mental health services, and career development. The organization's work recognizes — much like yoga itself — that healing is not a single moment but an ongoing practice rooted in the body and the strength of community.
